The Sky is Falling!

Well not really falling...and Chicken Little was an alarmist who had bad timing as far as picking the time of year to picnic under an oak tree!

Actually, the steady barrage of acorns from the magnificent Live Oaks that oversee our property is pretty much over. 

Now they just have a bunch of these little balls. 

I don't know what they are, but they look pretty cool with sap oozing from them.

Looks like a gall. It is actually a stimulated growth of the tree stimulated by an insect. The insects then use it to grow their eggs. Usually beneficial insects so just let them be.
